Getting started
Getting started with Parts Quote Compare
Eight steps from the first request to a shared comparison. The example data in the app (Requests › Load example, or More › Data) shows every screen with invented parts and suppliers.
-
1. Create a request
Requests › New request. Give it a name, optionally your reference, tags (for example brakes, fleet), the date the quotes should be in, a planned order date and the VAT rate (20% by default).
-
2. Add the items
Items › Add item. Part number, description, quantity and unit (pcs, sets, pairs, kits, litres, metres) and the date you need the part. “Save + next” keeps the form open for the next item.
-
3. Add each supplier quote
Quotes › Add quote. Supplier, contact, quote number and date, valid until, whether the prices include VAT, the delivery terms and the usual lead time. Payment, warranty and returns terms go into the terms field.
-
4. Enter the prices
Open the quote and tap “Enter next”: unit price, minimum order, pack size, volume prices, lead time, availability and warranty. “Save + next” moves to the next item of the same supplier. Tick “cannot supply” for gaps.
-
5. Compare and choose
Compare shows the table. Tap a price to choose it for the item, tap again to clear, long-press to edit. “Everything from one…” takes every item a supplier quoted. The totals below show goods, delivery, VAT and the total inc VAT.
-
6. Check the dates
Lead times lists the expected delivery date of every quoted line against the needed-by date. “Items at risk” shows only the lines that would be late.
-
7. Share
PDF report and CSV: the comparison report as PDF, the order list as text or CSV, all quoted lines as CSV – through the share menu or saved in a folder.
-
8. Keep your data safe
More › Data › Share backup or Save to a folder. Restore the file on a new phone with “Restore from a backup”. Duplicate a request as a template for repeat purchases.
